I started creating paperweights as a solution to a problem I had when I was working at vendor tables at outdoor craft fairs. Whenever there was something so much as a slight breeze, items on my table would topple over and my flyers would fly away. I decided to make funky colorful paperweights out of polymer clay as a way of holding my items down. To make the paperweights more interesting, I added single inspirational words (like "Believe", "Love", and "Faith").
Well, every now and then I would actually get customers who wanted to buy one of my paperweights so I began to sell them. This is definitely a case of creating something to solve my own problem only to find interested customers.
