The Blue and Pink Fairy 2

Here is what this doll looked like when I first bought her from the thrift store. As you can see, she is very articulated for a Barbie doll. However, I have no idea what that blue thing that's built in around her waist is supposed to be. (That's the thing about buying used dolls from thrift stores, they never come with any instruction manuals or any other kind of written information.)

Here is a back view of the doll as she originally looked. As for that wind-up key in the back, I tried winding it up but it didn't do anything nor did it result in any kind of doll movement. I have no idea if this doll was a wind-up toy with a busted key or if the wind-up key is supposed to move a body part in a certain direction.
