Pooh Lolita

I initially found the pattern (called "Kimono Lolita with Obi Corset for SD and MSD") in the February, 2007 issue of Haute Doll magazine. I was impressed by the accompanying photos and the outfit looked easy to sew so I decided to make a mental note to give this one a try. It was a good thing that I didn't try this pattern right away because soon after the issue was released, I saw postings on the Den of Angels forum from people who complained about how they tried the pattern in that magazine only to find out that the resulting outfit was too small for their doll. The editor of Haute Doll magazine admitted that there was an error during both the editing and print run that resulted in both pattern versions being too small for the dolls in question. So the magazine posted the corrected patterns right on its website and I downloaded the Super Dollfie version for my Dollfie Dream.

Type of Doll This Outfit Fits:1/3 scale doll (22-24 inches/60 cm).
Pattern It's Based On: The kimono and obi came from the "Kimono Lolita with Obi Corset for SD and MSD" article that was published in the February, 2007 issue of Haute Doll magazine. The matching panties came from Simplicity's Disney Princess Costumes for 18" Dolls Pattern 5705, Dress F (Tinkerbell). (I had to enlarge the panties pattern slightly in order for it to fit my Dollfie Dream.)
Outfit Description: The kimono and panties were made out of this cute Winnie the Pooh cotton fabric that I found in the remnant table at a local Jo-Ann's Fabrics & Crafts. It's lined with lace on the kimono sleves and bottom. The obi and collar were made out of a plain cotton blue fabric that I also found in the same location as the Winnie the Pooh fabric.
Date I Finished Work on It: February 7, 2007

This outfit is modeled in the photos by a Volks Dollfie Dream. Click on any photo below to see a larger version of the same photo open in a new window.
