Dolls

Purple and Gold Fairy

This was my first attempt at making a very tiny doll outfit.

Type of Doll This Outfit Fits: 1/12 scale doll (6 inches/10 cm).
Pattern It's Based On: The fairy outfit was based on McCall's Pattern 3897, Dress B. The pattern was originally meant to fit Barbie so I ended up having to reduce it in size in order to fit my Orient Doll Ji.
Outfit Description: The fairy dress was hand-sewn from cotton material with a purple floral accent at the wasit and gold ribbon trimmings. The fairy wings were made out of polymer clay that I attached to the dress using velcro.
Date I Finished Work on It: April 29, 2006

This outfit is modeled in the photos by an Orient Doll Ji. Click on any photo below to see a larger version of the same photo open in a new window.
