Dolls

Dutch Treat

Type of Doll This Outfit Fits: 1/3 scale doll (22-24 inches/60 cm).
Pattern It's Based On: A pattern titled "Easy Sew Designs: Modern Vinyl" (BHD 1422) that was published by Brown House Dolls of Allen, Michigan. (I purchased this pattern at a doll show). The outfit was originally designed for a 16 inch doll so I had to enlarge it.
Outfit Description: The hat and dress is made from white cotton. The hat was painted with Stiffy fabric stiffener after sewing in order to help it maintain its shape. The dress is trimmed in lace at the collar and the bottom hem. The apron that graces the jumper is made from the same fabric as the hat and dress and it's trimmed in lace on the edges and includes light blue floral accents on the apron itself. The top of the jumper is made from navy blue cotton while the bottom is made from a printed fabric cotton that was imported from Germany. The top of the jumper has six gold buttons that are wrapped with light blue ribbon.
Date I Finished Work on It: May 1, 2005

This outfit is modeled in the photos by a Volks Dollfie Dream. Click on any photo below to see a larger version of the same photo open in a new window.

Close-up of the German-imported fabric that I used for making the bottom skirt portion of the jumper.

Original .jpeg that I entered into the Den of Angels forum's 2005 Costume Contest. (I didn't win.)
