This is the first doll I've ever customized that was based on an anime/manga character. (Chi is a cute and sexy doll-like robot from the Chobits manga and anime series.)
Type of Doll: Obitsu 1/6
Size: 27 cm/11 inches
Head: Obitsu pre-rooted hair head
Hair Color: White
Body: Obitsu 1/6 body
Eyes: Brown eyes painted directly on the face using acrylic paint and a matte varnish.
Lips: Pink lips painted directly on the face using acrylic paint and a matte varnish.
Ears and Hair Spools: Both the ears and hair spools were made out of white air-dry Makin's Clay. The inside ears were painted with pink acrylic paint then glued permanently to the head using epoxy glue. The hair spools were sculpted and placed directly in the hair while the clay was still soft. (It dried in the doll's hair.) After the spools were dried, I painted the middle of the spools pink using pink acrylic paint. (I had to dangle the hair spools over the edge of a table after I finished painting in order to avoid getting pink paint in the doll's hair.
Outfit Description: The doll wears a Barbie Fashion Fever pink dress and silver choker. The shoes were made from Bake & Bend Sculpey.
Date I Finished Customizing This Doll: April 28, 2006
Sold: Live Benefit Auction for the New Deal Cafe, Greenbelt, MD, June 3, 2007
