The Pink Fairy is the second doll that I've ever customized from a blank Asian-imported doll yet she was the first doll I've ever sold to someone else. She's nicknamed the Pink Fairy because she wears a pink dress with matching wings and pink rose accents.
Type of Doll: Volks Dollfie Plus
Size: 27 cm/11 inches
Head: Volks Custom Hair Head A
Body: Volks EB Beauty A
Hair Color: Dark Blonde
Eyes: Violet eyes painted directly on the face using acrylic paint and a matte varnish.
Lips: Pink lips painted directly on the face using acrylic paints and a matte varnish.
Outfit Description: The entire fairy outfit was based on McCall's Pattern 3897, Dress B. The fairy dress was hand-sewn from cotton material with rose accents and lace trimmings. The fairy wings were made out of the same cotton material with pipe cleaner skeleton and accents drawn on the wings with a fabric pen. The wand was made out of a pipe cleaner wrapped with a ribbon, an elastic handle, two small beads, and a large star-shaped bead. The Pink Fairy wears two sparkling pink barrets in her hair that I purchased from the 2004 Otakon from a dealer named Dizzy. The Pink Fairy wears a pair of matching pink shoes with white floral accents that was originally made for a Skipper doll.
Date I Finished Customizing This Doll: September 6, 2004 (Labor Day)
Sold on eBay: November 30, 2004
