Final Photos From Artomatic 2008, Washington, DC

If you've seen my exhibit, you would know that I had a few photos of some dolls on display. For the Artists Social night (where the participating artists schmoozed amongst each other), I decided to bring just two of the featured dolls. I thought that if no one tried to socialize with me, I would whip them out of my bag as an attention-getting device. The big irony was that there were enough friendly people to socialize with that I didn't need to whip out the dolls during the social so they stayed in the duffel bag. It wasn't a total waste of time and energy hauling the dolls with me because I took a few photos of my dolls at my own exhibit on the wall located 7th floor next to the men's bathroom door before the social started. Ever since Artomatic has begun in 1999, there has been this self-styled Artomatic poet known as Brash who goes through all the exhibits, picks out one item in the exhibit, and writes a poem about it. I really admire this poet's stamina and patience to be able to do that since there were over 1,000 artists who participated in this year's event. Brash took a look at one of my Dollfie Dream photos, wrote a poem about it, and posted it near the bottom of my exhibit wall.
