Since Halloween happened two days ago, I'd thought I would share a few Halloween-themed photos. (Click on any photos to see a larger version open in a new window.)
Here's a full shot of my townhouse all decked out with Halloween decorations. (I took the first few photos during daylight hours.)
Here are the two jack-o-lanterns that I carved myself.
Here are a few porch decorations, including a gothic casket that's the perfect size for some of my larger dolls. I didn't have any dolls or anything else inside the casket on Halloween mainly because I was paranoid about theft. (My paranoia is completely justified because a few years ago I had put out a few Halloween-themed Beanie Babies in a basket on the porch on Halloween night as a cute decoration only to discover a few hours later that half of them were taken.)
Close-up of the three candle holders (one black cat head and two smaller ghost heads based on the Scream movies).
For the door, instead of a wreath, I have a figure of the ghost from the Scream movies hanging around all ready to greet the trick or treaters who come to the door. The torn curtain adds to the ambiance.
A bat hovers over the mailbox while a spider's web hangs near the outdoor light.
I find it hilarious that many people will spend money on fake spider webs at the local mall while I got a real spider web for free. On top of that, I didn't have to take the time to put it up and there are even a few dead moths in it.
I even got a shot of the presumed web creator as it was adding more to the web.
Four of my dolls were used as part of the Halloween decorations. They stood in front of the kitchen window as silent observers of the trick or treaters who came by the house. Standing in the back row are my Volks Dollfie Dream (dressed in her Skulls & Roses outfit that I made myself) and my Fantasy Doll Tobias (dressed in a pirate outfit that I also made myself). The short red-haired doll dressed in black is my Ellowyne Wilde doll while the shorter blonde is my Blythe doll (showing off her orange eyes).
The next few photos are some of the same decorations as they looked after nightfall. I took those photos once the official trick or treating time in my neighborhood was over.
Here are the jack-o-lanterns with lit candles inside of them.
The yellow outdoor light brought off a really spooky effect to both the hanging rubber bat and the spider web. The dead moths inside the spider web also contributed to the overall spookiness.
The casket and the three candleholders under the yellow outdoor light.
I only lit a candle inside the black cat's head because the other two take very tiny candles that are literally hard to find in the stores. Some years I luck out and find some appropriately-sized candles but that's rare.
Here are the dolls in the window as they looked after dark. I had a desk lamp shining directly over the dolls, which provides a very eery effect. The window mesh screen provided a diffused look at the dolls. Standing in the back row are my Volks Dollfie Dream and my Fantasy Doll Tobias. The short red-haired doll dressed in black is my Ellowyne Wilde doll while the shorter blonde is my Blythe doll (whose face is obscured by the darkness).
Well, anyway, enjoy the photos!
