Here are a few photos I took at last weekend's Greenbelt Green Man Festival using my brand-new camera (which arrived at the same time that I was scrambling to prepare for my formal public debut as a vendor at that festival). I only took photos during the first day of the festival (May 13, 2006) because the second day was plagued with bad weather. (I ended up leaving at 3 p.m. on the second day when it started to rain.)
Here is the full shot of my booth, which I cobbled together using a foam display board, two portable dinner trays and two boxes stacked together. On the second day of the festival, I replaced the two cardboard boxes with my one big wheeled suitcase. Not pictured: The portable lawn chair that I used to sit down on to rest my feet throughout the day.
Here is a close-up of the display board featuring my polymer clay necklaces and a few of my dolls.
Here is a close-up of the other side of my vending area that includes my customized dolls. The only doll that wasn't for sale was my Dollfie Dream--she was displayed as an attention-getting device (which worked, by the way). I had a sign next to my Dollfie Dream that included information about the doll and the URL for Volks USA where people could purchase a similar doll if they wanted one.
As you can guess from the name, the theme of this festival is the legendary Green Man and there were numerous guys who dressed up as The Green Man who cavorted around the festival. I took a photo of this one right next to my booth.
At one point during the festival, there was a gathering of all the guys who were dressed in Green Man outfits and they announced from the stage that they were members of The Beloved Order of the Green Man who have come to march around the festival area and confer their blessings on everyone. A bunch of Green Men walked past my booth and they conferred a blessing on me and all the items I was selling. In this photo, you can see the back of my Volks Dollfie Dream wearing her fairy outfit.
Here's another shot of the march of the members of The Beloved Order of the Green Man as they marched their way through the festival grounds.
