Dolls

Phoenix, December, 2005

(Originally written on December 25, 2005)

I'm writing this on a laptop from my in-laws' home in Phoenix, Arizona. My husband and I almost didn't make this trip because we both came down with colds. I was so exhausted that my husband covered all the packing on the day that we left. What's worse is that Phoenix is currently on a high pollution alert, which is only making it harder on me because not only am I battling a cold but I have to deal with icky air on top of that!

Before I left I managed to finish the painting part of my Soom Mini-Gem Uyoo. All I have left to do is body blushing but that'll have to wait until I return to Washington, DC. She is so small that I managed to slip her in my suitcase because I wanted to show her off to relatives. Except that the opportunty hasn't come up for me to show the doll off because it's due to either 1) having young children present (I'm afraid that they will handle Uyoo so roughly that she gets damaged in some way) or 2) my mother-in-law is extremely busy either in the kitchen or wrapping presents or 3) my father-in-law is extremely busy with mailing Christmas cards (yes, he's late in sending them out this year).

Well, I did show the doll to the family dog and I got a cute photo out of that encounter.

In the meantime, I did take a few photos of Uyoo alongside some desert landmarks, such as downtown Scottsdale.

I also took a bunch of photos of Uyoo inside the house where we were staying at.

In any case, Merry Christmas, Happy Yuletide, Happy Hanukkah, and Happy Kwanzaa.
